The Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Representative (BDR) to help bring an exciting Virtual Reality solution to market. As the first line of communication with many prospects, an ideal BDR will excel at researching leads, starting new relationships, and setting our sales team up with qualified opportunities. We’re looking for a quick learner who is personable and can distinctly detect the difference between curiosity and interest. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress to a direct sales role working in one of New Zealand most exciting companies.

The Key Responsibilities


  • Partnering closely with Sales to identify and source net new pipeline that leads to closed revenue.
  • Discovering prospects business initiatives
  • Building a point of view on how to help qualify customer needs.
  • Speaking to value and return on investment vs technical functionality.
  • Building credibility and trust on investment vs technical functionality.
  • Learning how to anticipate and prepare for objections.
  • Demonstrating adaptability and flexibility as part of every growing sales organisation.
  • Managing a high volume of accounts with a strategy on prioritisation of your accounts and time.
  • Researching and understanding various lines of business and personas.
  • Sourcing new business and/or cross sell pipeline and revenue through outbound prospecting efforts.
  • High sales activity role with weekly Key Performance Indicators(KPIs) for targeted calls and emails.
  • Generating interest through outbound cold calling.
  • Prospecting for opportunities to a highly responsive market.
  • Understanding customer needs and building new business sales opportunity through inbound and outbound lead generation.


The ideal person

  • 2- 3 years of sales experience with a history of exceeding lead targets.
  • B2B/B2C and lead generation experience.
  • Proficiency with CRM software.
  • Strong communication skills via phone and email.
  • Proven creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills.
  • Strong desire and ability to move up within a sales organisation.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and negotiation skills.
